Thoughtfulness
Blows
They
say this world is round, and yet,
I
often think it’s square,
So
many little hurts we get,
From
corners here and there!
But
there’s one truth in life I've found,
While
journeying east and west,
The
only folks we really wound,
Are
those we love the best.
We
flatter those we hardly know,
We
please the fleeting guest,
And
deal full many a thoughtless blow,
To
those we love the best.
Rules
of the Road.
The
rule of the road is a paradox quite,
Both
in riding and driving alone,
If
you keep to the left, you are sure to be right,
If
you keep to the right you are wrong.
But
in walking the street ‘tis a different case,
To
the right it is a right you should bear,
Whereas
to the left should be left enough space,
For
those whom you chance to meet there.
(Henry
Erskins—200 Years Ago)
Your life is UNIQUE...... Do not
  squander it.
“These
years of your life are the years which will prepare you for your future. Your
“tomorrow” depends much on how you are living the “today” of your youth.
Stretching out in front of you, my dear young friend, is a life that all of
us hope will be long; yet it is only one life, it is unique: do not let it
pass it vain; do not squander it. Live it with enthusiasm and with joy, but
most of all, with a sense of responsibility.”

Benedict to the Youth of Brazil (2007)
